Dear Kara,

My son, Ryan, spent three weeks at CERN this past July. He loved discovering Switzerland and France and hopes to return next July for 4-5 weeks with his wife.

When he realized that using his cell phone to call us was not a viable option, we all invested in Skype cameras for free video calling via the computer. It was a great way to remain in touch and to have him in the room with us. The girls loved it! It was one of the best $40.00 investments we have ever made. If you and Chris choose to go that way, we can also visit via Skype, as I am sure many of your other family and friends would be willing to do. Technology today is so incredible!

Ryan shared tons of photos that he took via Facebook and it made me feel as if I were there with him. It gave me a yearning to visit Switzerland. Your blog and photos are wonderful and manage to bring your new home into mine.

The Lord has blessed you with an opportunity that not many of us have in our lives. I look forward to watching how He will use you and Chris on this new adventure.

May you be blessed with His peace and His presence as you find your new home and begin this journey.

Love & *hugs*-

Kara,

I'm stunned - in a good way :-) I had no idea all of this was going on! It sounds so exciting (which I know can be as bad as it is good)! I will most definitely be praying for you - and will be visiting your blog often. Your head must be spinning with "to do" lists. I know you have many friends here (but not all of them live as close as I do). So PLEASE call if I can help you with something.

I fully intended to hire you to paint a picture of our property before we leave for Athens. I'm not sure if that is still possible (there would certainly be no rush!) I thought of it the VERY FIRST TIME I visited your website. Can you imagine what you'll be able to paint in Switzerland ??

It's like a movie - probably because I'm not really awake yet - and this was the first news I was greeted with.

I read the previous comment - and we use SKYPE to talk to Spencer in Japan. It's fun figuring out what time of day to call each other! My last two laptop's have been equipped with a webcam, so I didn't even have to buy any equipment. AND - Spencer was able to spend $25 or $50/year to have a phone number (through SKYPE) that has a local area code. You may want it to be the same as your mom's but even then - the rest of us would have a US number to call you on. You would still have to be at your computer to talk to family and friends - but we would all be able to call you from our home and cell phones ??? (Just a thought).

Love and prayers,
CINDY
